to share this experience so gracefully, so rhythmically, u must’ve endured violent thrashes of the ego beneath the surface. you’re expanding. i celebrate u queen!!!
The way you reflect on that Buddhist sentiment is nice.
Who are we, without all the stuff we think we own?
After having a similar thing happen, I also thought this. Maybe the most important thing to own, is our reaction to being alive, what we do with our moments here. Glad you are using some of those moments to write and make art.
I remember giving you a tiny token to remind you of a moment in Italy during a residency when you affirmed your artistry for yourself. That moment happened along with millions of others before and afterward with or without the tiny token. Your effect on the world and your art is bone deep. Lucky I’ve gotten to see it flourish first hand ❤️
I lost my Fujifilm x100 midst my move back in Spring and I also sent through a similar journey of grief and (self) anger. Reading about your philosophical ways of looking at physical things was healing for me. Thank you for your words and wisdom.

Cheers to that.
Gosh Jess, I am so incredibly sorry (and angry) that this happened to you. 😔
